A busy Saturday night helped to kick off the 2022 Memorial Day holiday with style as several cars found their way into town for the Saturday night cruise in while others kicked up their heels in a downtown street dance.
Car enthusiasts once again found their way into town checking out some classic automobiles for the weekly Cruise In sponsored in the downtown area by the Carter County Car Club who uses the event to receive donations for local children during Christmas.
Just a few blocks down the street, Big Dan’s and Riverside Taphouse in downtown Elizabethton sponsored a street dance in cooperation with the Elizabethton Dance Club.
Charles LaPorte was on hand to provide dance lessons for those wishing to kick up their heels on the street of Elk Avenue.
Just across the Doe River, Downtown Country provided an evening of music for the Covered Bridge Jams session to the delight of those who brought lawn chairs to enjoy the music at Covered Bridge Park on a beautiful Saturday evening.
Many others will be taking to the lakes and swimming pools on Monday as the official start of Summer is marked by the holiday.
