James L. Johnson is the new pastor at Harvest Baptist Church, 309 E. F St., Elizabethton.
Pastor Johnson has been preaching for 55 years, and he and his wife, Bonnie, have planted ten churches during their ministry; seven in New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida, and three in the Philippine Islands.
Pastor Johnson is also founder and president of Heartbeat International Missions, which he chartered in 2020 and which is headquartered in Elizabethton. “The Lord has allowed Heartbeat to distribute over $1 million to help missionary pastors and church planters in the Philippines and Cambodia,” said Johnson.

Sunday services include Sunday School at 10 a.m.; morning worship at 11 a.m., and evening worship at 5 p.m. Wednesday Bible study is at 7 p.m.
