Happy Valley Elementary School celebrated being named a Reward School for the 2021-2022 school year on Tuesday.
Happy Valley chose to celebrate by expressing that it’s “sweet to be a Reward School.” This celebration included Kona Ice slushies for all students and a dance party for all grade levels.
The fifth-graders from Happy Valley Middle School were invited down to celebrate their success from last year, and the Happy Valley High School cheerleaders and band members flooded the school to further promote the excitement of this accomplishment.
Principal Mandy Greer and Mrs. Ensor also thanked and recognized teachers for their part in preparing students for success. Last year, students were present and engaged, and their growth definitely proves all of the hard work that was put in by everyone.
“We challenged students to ‘Knock it Out of the Park’ last year, and they did,” Greer said. “We even had kids say, ‘This was actually fun. I wasn’t near as nervous as last year.’ We really challenged our students to ‘show what they know’ if you will, and they rose to the challenge. We couldn’t be any more proud of their accomplishments, especially after the previous two or three school years and the way their learning experience has changed.
“It takes a village, and ours is strong. We are proud of Warrior Nation and this community for rallying together for our youth.”
Hampton Elementary and Valley Forge Elementary also received the Reward School designation.
