A Carter County constable was injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash on US 19-E.
The accident took place around 7 p.m. on Dec. 1 on US 19-E near Howard Lipford Road.
According to Tennessee Highway Patrol, Jacquelyn Boone was driving a 2001 Ford Escape traveling north on US 19-E in the second lane when the 2000 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Carter County Constable John Henson, traveling south on US 19-E, activated his emergency lights and made a U-turn in the middle of US 19-E. While making the turn, Henson failed to yield to northbound traffic.
Boone’s vehicle hit Henson’s in the passenger side rear tire, and his vehicle rotated clockwise off the right shoulder down a 40-foot embankment.
Henson was not wearing his seat belt and was transported to JCMC with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
