HARRIMAN – Unaka tops Rockwood at the Harriman Christmas Classic on Friday, Dec. 30.
Lyndie Ramsey’s 40 points led Unaka to a 58-42 win over Rockwood. What started out as a close game with the Rangers holding on to a one-point lead after one spread to a 14-point lead at halftime. Rockwood would score 20 points in the third quarter to close the gap to eight but 14 points in the fourth by Ramsey would be too much for Rockwood to overcome. Ramsey led all scorers with 40 points with 15 points coming from the free-throw line hitting 15 of 17. Unaka shot 17 of 20 from the free-throw line. Kaylee Davidson would lead Rockwood with 12 points, followed by Braylyn Davidson with ten. To round out the scoring for Unaka, Keyona Hague had four; Lauren Lund, Haley Taylor, Hannah Yontz and Alisha Harrell contributed three points apiece with Emma Taylor contributing two.
