The Carter County Youth Basketball League’s Annual Bill Oliver Tournament kicked off at Valley Forge Elementary on Monday night. The Bill Oliver Tournament, named after one of the founders of the CCYBL, is played every year at the end of the season to raise money for a nonprofit or a family in need. The tournament kicked off with two of Valley Forge’s teams facing off. Valley Forge Jr. Cadet 3 would top Valley Forge Jr. Cadet 2 in the opening game. In the night’s second game, Valley Forge Jr. Cadet 1 pulled out a close victory over Bulldogs Jr. Cadet 4. The night’s final game would see Hunter Cadet 3 top Keenburg Cadet 1 in another close game.  Star Photographer Tyler Scalf was present at Valley Forge Elementary School to share tournament action with Star readers. Games will continue at Valley Forge on Tuesday and Thursday, with the championship games on Saturday at Keenburg Elementary.
