Lady Highlanders take conference win over Lady Bulldogs

The Cloudland Lady Highlanders traveled down 19E to Hampton to take on the Lady Bulldogs on Friday night. The Lady Bulldogs would drop the home contest 14-1. Reagan Blair would hit a home run to give the Lady Highlanders a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. Ella Benfield led off the top of the fourth with one of her two triples for the game and sparked a six-run fourth to extend the Lady Landers lead to 7-1. The Lady Bulldogs responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth with a leadoff single from Briley Davis and she would score the only run for Hampton. Abby Willis would get the only other hit for the Lady Bulldogs in the bottom of the fifth. Cloudland would add one run in the fifth, two in the sixth and four in the seventh to remain undefeated in the Watauga Valley Conference. Cloudland is 2-0 in the conference and 3-0 overall and Hampton drops to 0-2 in the conference and 0-3 overall.
