The Elizabethton Lady Cyclones proved to not be cordial hosts to their visitors from Johnson City on Monday evening at the Lady Cyclone Diamond when the Science Hill Lady Hilltoppers came calling.
Behind a 16 hit attack, the Lady Cyclones showed no mercy until the end in a 10-0 shellacking of the Lady ‘Toppers.
Seven Lady Cyclones collected two hits apiece in the victory while Lilly McDuffie was taking care of business in the pitching circle going five innings while shutting down the Science Hill offense allowing only four hits in the contest.
Elizabethton scored two runs each in the bottom of the second and third innings while adding one in the fourth and five in the bottom of the fifth to earn the run-rule decision.
Maely Ingram, Emma O’Quinn, Mollie Johnson, Ember Jensen, Kenidy Harris, Sadie Williams, and Lana Ward pounded out two base knocks apiece with Jensen collecting a pair of doubles to drive in three RBIs. Harris had two RBIs as well. Harris and Ward also doubled.
Cheyenne Poiroux added a double and Hannah Morgan singled for the other two hits in the game for Coach Ken Hardin’s team.
