EHS Athletic Director named DWTS 2023 Overall Male Winner

Holt was named the Overall Male Winner of the event after receiving the only perfect sore of the night with all 10s for his Salsa and West Coast Swing routines.

Saturday night brought another trophy back to Elizabethton as Forrest Holt, Athletic Director for Elizabethton High School, brought home the coveted mirror ball for Dancing with the Tricities Stars 2023. Holt was named the Overall Male Winner after receiving the only perfect score of the night with all 10s for his Salsa and West Coast Swing routines.
Dancing with the Tricities Stars is led by two-time World Champion dancers Mike and Kim Adler, and is a fundraiser for area at risk youth. This year’s beneficiary was Jeremiah School, a school for children with Autism.
The 2023 female stars included Mackenzie Carrier, Laura Degennaro, Radhika Reddy, Kaitlen Ryans, and Brittany Whitson. The male stars included Forrest Holt, Scott Newton, Lucas Schmidt, Josh Petty and Derek Michael.
For many of the night’s performers, including Holt, this was their first time learning ballroom dances. Participants spent a little over 12 weeks learning the basics of dance and their routines before showing off their moves in front of a large audience, world champion dancers/judges, and celebrity judges.
Overall Female Winner for the night was Dr. Radhika Reddy dancing a Salsa and Bollywood routine- a first for the show. Dr. Reddy also won the Shining Star Award for her fundraising efforts. The Rising Star Award and People’s Choice Award Winner was Laura DeGennaro.
Holt joins some past Elizabethton winners, including Shawn Witten, Jim Jones and Justin Smith.
