The Carter County Drug Prevention Program is gearing up for a meaningful initiative as they host a “Travel Sized Items Drive” during the upcoming September 14 Thursday’s Shop Late event in downtown Elizabethton. This charitable endeavor aims to gather donations of travel-sized items, extending a helping hand to individuals and families facing challenging circumstances.
Navigating the path to recovery can often be an arduous and isolating journey. Nash Acuna, Opioid Prevention Coordinator for the Carter County Drug Prevention Program, highlighted the significance of community support, stating, “Starting over in recovery can be a daunting, lonely, and sparse process. Feeling love and support from your community can make a world of difference in the journey back to a healthy life.” Acuna also expressed pride in the partnership with Bridge to Shore Recovery, emphasizing the impact it can have on local women seeking support.
The Travel Sized Items Drive is scheduled to coincide with the September 14 Shop Late event in downtown Elizabethton. Numerous local businesses will participate by accepting donations of travel-sized items. These donations will serve as tangible tokens of love and encouragement for those undertaking the challenging journey of recovery.
All contributions received will directly benefit individuals and families striving to overcome obstacles and build brighter futures. The Carter County Drug Prevention Program offers a range of programs and events, catering to children and adults alike, with the ultimate goal of fostering positive change within the community.
This initiative is an opportunity for the community to unite and demonstrate its unwavering commitment to a healthier and happier Carter County. Donors are encouraged to drop off their travel-sized item donations at any participating business during Thursday’s Shop Late event in downtown Elizabethton. Let us come together and make a difference in the lives of those in need, showcasing the compassion and solidarity that define our community.
