A heartwarming collaboration between downtown Elizabethton businesses and local nursing homes is set to brighten the lives of seniors in nursing care. During the “Shop Late Thursday” event on September 21, the community is invited to participate by generously donating non-slip socks, combs, and brushes.

While these may seem like everyday items, they hold immense value for seniors residing in nursing homes, bringing them comfort and dignity. The initiative aims to create a profound impact on the lives of these cherished community members.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to stroll along Elk Avenue during the “Shop Late Thursday” event and contribute to this compassionate endeavor. Donation drop-off points can be found at various participating downtown retail businesses, which have extended their hours until at least 7 p.m.
