BRISTOL – The thrilling race to determine the “Fastest Street Car in America” is back as HOT ROD Drag Week 2023, Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, returns to premier tracks in four Southeast cities from September 17 to September 22. This year is extra special as HOT ROD Magazine celebrates its 75th anniversary.

The title chase covers four classic Southeast tracks in Hartsville, S.C., Rockingham, N.C., Bristol, Tenn., and Aiken, S.C. Each day of racing presents a grueling test as participants drive their street-legal vehicles on a specified route from city to city, covering over 1,000 miles, all while aiming to secure the quickest possible elapsed time over five days of drag racing.

Day 3 of this epic competition unfolds at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tenn., on September 20 (gates open at 7:30 a.m. local time, racing hours from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time). The winning driver not only earns bragging rights but also walks away with a custom guitar from longtime sponsor Gear Vendors Overdrive and extensive media coverage from the largest and oldest enthusiast media group.

Two of the tracks are new to the Drag Week crowd, making this year’s event even more exciting. Darlington Dragway, the start/stop location, is joined by Rockingham Dragway, Bristol Dragway, and the famed “House of Hook” Carolina Dragway.

HOT ROD Drag Week has been a world-renowned competition since 2005, drawing participants and fans from around the globe. Competitors often come together to help each other navigate the challenges of this demanding event.

For fans, the Drag Pack ticket program allows access to all venues throughout the week. Spectator tickets will also be available at individual tracks for $20, with free entry for children 12 and under accompanied by a paid adult.
