Tennessee College of Applied Technology triumphs in Race to Build competition

In a thrilling showdown at Bristol Motor Speedway, the Tennessee College of Applied Technology emerged as the victor in the annual Race to Build competition held September 14-16. Competing against teams from the University of Nebraska and Kent State University, the Tennessee College of Applied Technology claimed first place, with the University of Nebraska securing second place and Kent State University taking third.
The Race to Build competition is a yearly event hosted by the Appalachia Service Project, in partnership with Bristol Motor Speedway during the Bass Pro Shops NASCAR Night race. University construction management students form teams to complete a challenging task: constructing homes for families in the Tri-Cities, Tennessee region within a tight two-day timeframe.
This exciting event not only showcases the dedication and skills of these college students but also serves as a meaningful endeavor to provide homes for families in need within the community.
