Carter County native Shane Simerly has officially declared his candidacy for the position of Assessor of Property in the upcoming 2024 election. Simerly, a lifelong resident, expressed his deep honor and enthusiasm in seeking to serve his community in this vital role.
A graduate of Hampton High School and Northeast Community College, Simerly’s strong ties to the region have driven his desire to contribute to its continued growth and prosperity. His roots trace back to parents, Nick Simerly and Betsy Rainbolt, and he holds the cherished memory of his grandparents, the late Albert and Marie Simerly and the late Robert “Tub” and Christine Rainbolt.
As a staunch conservative, Simerly believes his values align perfectly with the principles of the Republican Party. His commitment to fairness and integrity, coupled with his extensive on-the-job experience of over 11-1/2 years, positions him as an ideal candidate for the Assessor of Property office.
