FROM STAFF REPORTS
NASHVILLE — In a joint operation known as “Operation Music City Missing,” a collaborative effort between the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS), authorities successfully located 12 missing children from Davidson County.
The operation, which spanned two days on September 26 and 27, aimed to locate juveniles reported as runaways or missing. In the planning phase weeks prior, authorities identified 111 such cases. Subsequently, intelligence efforts enabled authorities to determine that 11 of the juveniles were suspected to be outside the country, and 35 others had either turned 18 or were located before the operation.
At the time of the operation, 23 juveniles remained unaccounted for due to insufficient intelligence. Investigative endeavors for these cases are ongoing.
During the two-day operation, five teams, consisting of TBI special agents, DCS Absconder Unit members, DCS Human Trafficking Unit members, and MNPD detectives, successfully located 12 missing juveniles. Active efforts to locate the remaining missing juveniles are currently underway.
