Carter County Schools is thrilled to reveal that Ned Smith, the Boys’ Basketball Coach at Hampton High School, has been named the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s 2022-23 Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year. This esteemed recognition underscores Coach Smith’s remarkable impact on his athletes and his exemplary coaching performance, both on and off the court throughout the 22-23 season.
Smith’s dedication to his players and his outstanding coaching skills have earned him this accolade, making him a source of pride for Hampton High School and the Carter County community. His achievements at the state level will now put him on the radar for the National Federation of State High School Associations, with the possibility of further recognition.
