A fatal crash occurred on the night of Friday, Oct. 6, around 10:20 p.m. in the area near Tiger Creek Road on US 19E. According to a release from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the incident involved a 2003 Ford Escape, driven by 27-year-old Ethan Lusk of Carter County, heading northbound on 19E. Due to wet road conditions, the Escape hydroplaned, crossing into the southbound lane. A 2014 Ford Flex, driven by Brian Adams of North Carolina, was traveling southbound and collided with the Escape on its passenger side. Tragically, Lusk lost his life in the accident, while Adams sustained injuries.
