FROM STAFF REPORTS
VFW Post 2166 Auxiliary, in collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank, is organizing a food distribution event to assist veterans and their families in need. The event is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. and will take place at the VFW Post located at 2001 West Elk Ave., Elizabethton.
To streamline the distribution process, attendees are requested to ensure sufficient trunk space for the food box and to pop their trunk once they reach the distribution line. The food will be loaded into their vehicles without any direct person-to-person contact, ensuring health and safety precautions are upheld.
To help gauge the quantity of food boxes required, Second Harvest has urged attendees to call David Batchelder at the Carter County Veterans Service Office at 542-1824 to register for the event. This step ensures an adequate food supply for those participating.
This collaboration reflects the commitment of VFW Post 2166 Auxiliary to support veterans and their families, particularly during these challenging times.
