The Elizabethton High School Betsy Band has emerged victorious once again, earning the prestigious title of State Champions in the 2023 Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championships. This impressive win marks the band’s Back 2 Back State Championships, further cementing their legacy as one of the finest in the state.
Competing at the 42nd Annual Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championships, hosted by Stewarts Creek High School in Smyrna, the Betsy Band showcased their exceptional talent and hard work. The band’s performance was nothing short of outstanding, earning them a well-deserved sixth state championship.
The Betsy Band also achieved remarkable success in various categories, dominating the competition. They secured 1st place awards in Percussion and Color Guard, highlighting their precision and artistry. In addition, the band claimed 1st place in Music, Visual, and Effects, illustrating their overall excellence. The Drum Major also displayed exceptional talent, securing 2nd place in their category.
After their triumphant victory, the Betsy Band returned to their hometown with pride, arriving home around 5 p.m. on Sunday. The community and their supporters celebrated their incredible achievements, acknowledging the countless hours of dedication and practice that led to this exceptional win. The Betsy Band’s remarkable performance in the Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championships has solidified their place as a powerhouse in the world of high school marching bands.
