Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 26 Investigated by Johnson City Police

JOHNSON CITY – Tragedy struck on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 2:37 p.m., when officers from the Johnson City Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Interstate 26 near mile marker 17.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Darrell Clark and other family members were attending to Mr. Clark’s disabled Ford F-150 on the shoulder of the road. In a devastating turn of events, a Mazda 3, traveling westbound on I-26, collided with both the Ford F-150 and Mr. Clark.

Despite immediate response from emergency personnel, Mr. Clark succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Fortunately, no additional injuries were reported among the involved parties.
