Elizabethton Police seek assistance in fraud investigation, urges public cooperation

The Elizabethton Police Department (EPD) has launched an appeal for public collaboration in identifying three individuals involved in a fraud case. These individuals are suspected of fraudulent debit card use at the Walmart located at 1001 Overmountain Drive, occurring on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.
Surveillance footage captured images of the three persons of interest who are believed to have been involved in the illicit transaction. In a bid to progress the investigation, the EPD has reached out to the community for any pertinent information regarding the identities of these individuals.
“Detective James Stevens is spearheading the inquiry and is available for information or tips. He can be contacted via email at jstevens@elizabethtonpolice.org or reached by phone at 423-297-9002,” conveyed an EPD spokesperson.
Moreover, the department has facilitated an anonymous avenue for individuals to contribute to the investigation. Citizens can discreetly share tips by texting “TIPEPD” followed by their information to 847411, enabling a confidential channel of communication while aiding law enforcement efforts.
The EPD urges anyone with information that may assist in identifying the individuals pictured to come forward promptly. Collaborative efforts from the public are crucial in furthering the investigation and ensuring swift resolution in this fraud case.
