The City of Elizabethton offices will be closed November 23 and 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The garbage collection schedule for the week is as follows: Monday and Tuesday’s scheduled collections will be picked up on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday will be collected on Tuesday; and Friday will be collected on Wednesday.

Also, offices at the Carter County Courthouse will be closed Thursday and Friday, as will be schools in both the county and the City of Elizabethton.

There will be no mail delivery on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.

The Elizabethton-Carter County Library will be closed Thursday and Friday, as well as the Elizabethton Senior Center.

The Elizabethton Star will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

All financial institutions will be closed Thursday, as will some shopping outlets.
