Johnson City Police arrest Zachary Gilliam on attempted second-degree murder charge

JOHNSON CITY — On Dec. 16, Zachary Gilliam, a 35-year-old resident of Johnson City, was arrested by officers of the Johnson City Police Department on charges of attempted second-degree murder.
Police responded to Gilliam’s residence on the aforementioned date, discovering that an altercation ensued between Gilliam and the victim as Gilliam attempted to remove the individual from the premises. The altercation turned physical, resulting in Gilliam allegedly shooting the victim, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Gilliam was apprehended and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where his bond was set at $75,000.
