FROM STAFF REPORTS
Cloudland High School’s Business Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program is celebrating a remarkable achievement as nine students from Cloudland earned specialist certification in Microsoft Office Word 2019. This nationally recognized industry credential positions the students favorably as they progress in their education or venture into the workforce.
Among the accomplished students, Cloudland junior Ean Powell distinguished himself not only by passing the certification but by achieving a flawless score, completing the assessment faster than any other student in Tennessee. As a result of his outstanding performance, Ean secured the title of Tennessee State Champion for the Microsoft Office Fall Qualifier. His exceptional achievement will take him to Florida in June to compete in the national Microsoft Office competition.
The success of Cloudland’s business program is credited to instructor Holly Houston, who leads the initiative. Houston expressed immense pride in the dedication and effort demonstrated by the students throughout the semester-long program. She remarked, “It is a grueling semester-long program and takes a lot of commitment from the students. I am so pleased to have Ean place first in the state and to have the others pass with such high scores. They did a fantastic job representing Cloudland High School.”
The achievements of Cloudland High School’s Business CTE Program underscore its commitment to preparing students for future academic and professional endeavors, showcasing excellence and dedication in the pursuit of skills and knowledge.
