FROM STAFF REPORTS
JOHNSON CITY – Jonathan Cox, 29, of Fall Branch, was apprehended by officers of the Johnson City Police Department and charged with aggravated robbery on Feb. 4.
The arrest follows an incident on Feb. 3, when officers responded to a report of a shoplifter at Walmart on Browns Mill Road shortly after 8 p.m. A loss prevention employee informed authorities that Cox was attempting to exit the store without paying for items and, when confronted, brandished a gun from a holster on his side. The employee retreated, and Cox fled the scene.
Cox was located and arrested the following day around 10 p.m. at a residence in Washington County. He was subsequently transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
