Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber celebrates Brumit Sports Shop’s new ownership and downtown relocation

The Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Main Street Elizabethton, will host a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Feb. 16, at 3 p.m. to commemorate Brumit Sports Shop’s new ownership and its relocation to a new downtown location.
The new owners expressed their excitement about stepping into the legacy of Brumit’s, a beloved hometown staple for decades. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining the tradition of providing quality sporting goods and apparel while infusing a fresh perspective and fostering a renewed sense of community in the new location.
Joy McCray, Executive Director of the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce, expressed enthusiasm for Brumit Sports Shop’s transition, stating, “Brumit Sports is a long-standing local favorite, and we love their new space! Stop in for classic letterman jackets and check out their custom apparel to cheer on your hometown teams.”
Courtney Bean, Director of Main Street Elizabethton, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the significance of Brumit’s Sports Shop’s legacy and expressing excitement about its growth under new ownership and in a fresh location.
