Keep Carter County Beautiful (KCCB) is organizing a community effort to clean up Milligan Highway as part of the TDOT Adopt-A-Highway Spring Cleanup Event on Saturday, March 9, at 10 a.m.
Volunteers are urgently needed to help restore the beauty of Milligan Highway, focusing on the stretch between Hwy. 321 and Okolona Road. The cleanup aims to remove litter and debris from the roadside, enhancing the local environment and community aesthetics.
Participants are requested to assemble at the Happy Valley Elementary School parking lot at the designated time. Proper attire is essential, and volunteers are encouraged to dress appropriately for outdoor work. KCCB will supply essential cleanup materials including trash bags, grabbers, safety vests, and gloves. Drinking water will also be provided for all participants.
The event adheres to all TDOT safety guidelines. Prior to participation, volunteers are required to watch the TDOT safety video available on the Keep Carter County Beautiful website at www.kcbtn.org/events. Additionally, all participants must complete and sign a TDOT waiver, which will be available at the event staging location at Happy Valley Elementary School.
For directions to Happy Valley Elementary School and additional event details, including a map, please visit the Keep Carter County Beautiful website at www.kccbtn.org/events.
