Northeast Tennessee unveils Bootleggers & Burnouts Trail: A journey through moonshine and stock car racing history

The Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association proudly announces the unveiling of the Bootleggers & Burnouts Trail, an exciting journey through the region’s storied past of moonshine production and stock car racing, complemented by stunning mountain vistas. In a collaborative effort between the Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association and various partners, the Bootleggers & Burnouts Trail meanders through picturesque mountain landscapes, offering glimpses into historic sites associated with bootlegging and stock car racing from their early origins to the present day. Travelers can explore the region’s moonshine heritage at historic distilleries, museums, and former moonshine caches, while also paying homage to legendary stock car drivers who shaped the region’s racing legacy.
