Dino Senesi Golf Classic raises funds for Carter County youth

The 34th Annual Dino Senesi Golf Classic, a crucial fundraiser benefiting the youth of Carter County, is set to tee off on Friday, May 17, at the Elizabethton Golf Course.

Presented by Citizens Bank, the event aims to support the more than 600 members of the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton. William “Euggie” Jones, Elizabethton Golf Course Pro, expressed excitement about hosting the Boys & Girls Club outing, highlighting the course’s exceptional condition and improvements made for an enjoyable season.

Registration for the 4-person team, select-shot tournament will begin at 11 a.m., with lunch served at noon. The shotgun start is set for 1 p.m. Golf foursomes are priced at $500 and include a cart, green fees, lunch, and refreshments throughout the day.

Participants have the chance to win prizes, including a $100,000 hole-in-one prize courtesy of Ricky Walters of Horace Mann. Additional contests feature closest-to-the-pin, longest drive, and putting competitions with various prizes. Each participant will receive a complimentary Nike golf polo, a bag of goodies, and entry into door prize drawings. Exciting giveaways include a 3-day, 2-night stay at a three-bedroom Air B & B on the Watauga River, a Top-Rated Driver, and an Hour of Golf Lessons with a Pro, among others.

The Classic honors Dino Senesi, a dedicated supporter of the club and a beloved member of the community renowned for his commitment to children. Tommy Tipton, Golf Committee Chair for the club, emphasized the tournament’s growth and its vital role in raising funds to support club youth.

Shelly Parham, Chief Executive Officer of the Club, underscored the significance of the event, stating, “The Classic is critical for our work and essential to this community as it provides crucial funding for club youth, ensuring we can continue serving more children, teens, and families in our county.”
