Johnson City Police arrest suspect in UPS burglary case

JOHNSON CITY – On April 6, officers of the Johnson City Police Department apprehended Travis Brooks, 32, Johnson City, in connection with a burglary incident at UPS, located at 2301 Silverdale Drive. Brooks faces charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools, theft, and possession of methamphetamine.

According to reports, just after 5 a.m. on the aforementioned date, JCPD responded to UPS following a report of someone pilfering items from the facility. Officers obtained surveillance footage capturing images of the suspect from security cameras installed at the business premises. Later, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers spotted the suspect, identified as Brooks, walking in the vicinity and promptly intercepted him. Upon conducting a search, officers discovered some of the stolen items in Brooks’ possession.

Subsequently, Brooks was apprehended and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
