Keep Carter County Beautiful and Elizabethton Parks & Recreation are calling for volunteers to participate in the 2024 Spring Tree Planting event. The initiative aims to enhance the local environment and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
The tree planting event is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, starting at 10 a.m. Volunteers are encouraged to gather at Kiwanis Park on Hunter Avenue and West G Street. Parking will be available on Hunter Avenue.
Participants are requested to bring shovels, rakes, gloves, and water. However, gloves and water will be provided for those who need them. It’s advised to dress appropriately for outdoor activities.
A total of 7-8 trees will be planted at both Kiwanis Park and Riverside Park. The holes for planting will already be dug, and the trees will be ready for their new homes. Indigenous trees including Red Bud, Dogwood, and Service Berry will be provided by Mills Greenhouse.
Those interested in joining the tree planting efforts are invited to visit the event’s page on the Keep Carter County Beautiful website at www.kccbtn.org/events for more information and a map of the locations. Let’s come together and beautify Carter County for generations to come!
