JOHNSON CITY — Timothy Garland, 50, of Johnson City, found himself in custody after officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested him and levied charges of aggravated burglary, domestic assault, and domestic vandalism.

The arrest stemmed from an incident on May 10, when officers responded to a domestic violence call at a residence on Hughes Street. Investigation revealed that Garland, the ex-boyfriend of the homeowner, gained unauthorized entry into the residence using a garage door opener he had previously taken. Upon entering, Garland forcibly kicked in an interior door to gain access to the property.

The homeowner, who was away at work during the intrusion, returned to find Garland inside the residence. A confrontation ensued, prompting the woman to retreat to a bedroom and contact emergency services.
