JOHNSON CITY – On June 10, at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to the 2900 block of Plymouth Road on a report of a carjacking.
The victim told police he was sitting in his car when the suspect approached the vehicle, put a gun to his head, and demanded he get out. The victim complied, and the suspect drove away in the vehicle. No one was injured.
The investigation revealed that the suspect was a 17-year-old juvenile, who was located — along with the car — at a residence in Jonesborough.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with carjacking and theft over $2,500. He was transported to the Upper East Tennessee Regional Juvenile Detention Facility.
