Fife and Drum Corps launches uniform campaign

Published 8:34 am Wednesday, May 7, 2014

The Watauga Valley Fife and Drum Corps is looking to drum up some financial assistance to create new uniforms for its musicians.

The Corps recently received a grant to go toward the new uniforms, but the amount is not enough to sew up the cost of regimental coats for the whole corps.

Donors are asked to fall in step and choose a category: Pewtersmith, a $35 donation that buys buttons for one coat; Weaver, a $50 donation that buys the cloth for a coat; Tailor, an $80 donation that pays for tailoring one coat; or Musician, a $165 donation that sponsors an entire coat.
