Norman E. Malone

Norman E. Malone, 77, Watauga, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Earl and Chessie Bare Malone. He was a retired employee of General Shale. After his retirement he was employed by CRS Roofing Company, Monroe, N.C. Norman served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dora Cagle Malone; three children: Gary Malone and his friend, Teresa Mead, Watauga; Denise Carol Frazier and her husband Tony, Greeneville; and Susan Malone of the home; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Malone, Elizabethton; one sister, Opal Scott, Watauga; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, May 3, 2014, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Eugene Oakes officiating. Interment will follow in the Scalf Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 11 to noon Saturday in the funeral home.
