Edith Wagner Garland, 87, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2014.
Mrs. Garland was born in Esserville, Va., to the late Wilson and Ellen Guinn Wagner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Garland.
Mrs. Garland was a homemaker and was of the Full Gospel faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Tolley and Linda Estep, both of Elizabethton, Judy Davis, Gastonia, N.C., Claria Begines and Ila Carter, both of Greeneville, Tenn.; and her sons, Alvin Garland, Kenneth Garland and Dean Garland, all of Elizabethton, and Everett Garland and wife Cleda, Bluff City. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Garland will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Kim Casey officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Highland Cemetery.
