Floyd Edwin Gross

Floyd Edwin Gross, 84, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the V.A. Medical Center in Johnson City. He was a native of Washington County and the son of the late Roby Otto Gross and Lucy Cross Gross.
Floyd was a pressman with the Johnson City Press for more than 42 years.
He was a member of the Johnson City Church of God for more than 25 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Floyd enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing cards, the beauty of the mountains and nature.
In addition to his parents, wife Earnestine Wishon Gross of 53 years and daughters Linda Gross Leach and Patricia Gross Murr preceded him in death.
Survivors include: three sons: Stephen Gross of Johnson City; Bryon Gross of Elizabethton; and Paul Andrew Gross of Johnson City; daughter, Deborah Morris (husband Brady) of Elizabethton; two brothers: Niles Gross of Johnson City; and Charles Gross of Norcross, Ga.; eight grandchildren: Jeff Murr, Derrick Morris, Abby Morris-Frye, Jamie Gross, Jessica Gross, Andrew Gross, Michael Gross and Daniel Gross; nine great grandchildren: Deon, Matthew, Damian, Destiny, Kylie, Kiera, Chase, Caleb, Caylei, Bryson and Aiden.
The family of Floyd Edwin Gross will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday July 14, 2014, in the Morris Baker North Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Family and friends are asked to meet Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Monte Vista Memorial Gardens Cemetery for a 1 p.m. graveside service.
