Ted Lewis

Ted Lewis, 70, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Melvin and Goldie Carden Lewis. He was a retired truck driver. Ted was a member of the Charity Hill Free Will Baptist Church. He was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge # 238. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Lewis Jr. and Hubert Lewis.
Survivors include his sons: Teddy Lewis, Richmond, Va.; and Keith Lewis and wife Lisa, Elizabethton; a stepson: Eric Pritchard, Elizabethton; his ex-wife: Joan Boardman; one sister: Annetta Hall, Elizabethton; a brother: Gary Lewis, Elizabethton; and two grandchildren: Brandon Lewis and Catherine Hopper.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Keith Weatherly, officiating. The eulogy was given by his son Teddy. Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. will be: Teddy Lewis, Keith Lewis, Larry Lewis, Eric Pritchard, Shannon Lewis, Tony Brockwell and Mickey Bennett. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Mountain States Hospice, Dr. James Dykes and his care givers Keith Lewis, Joan Boardman, Earlene Myers and Jessica Runion The family received friends Monday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
