Mike James Lusk, 52, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at his residence.
Mike was a native of Carter County and a son of Louise O’Quinn Lusk and the late Harold Clifford Lusk. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robin Lusk, and a grandson, Jacob Stout.
Mike had worked as a block mason and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and working on small engines.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his fiancée, Brenda Jester, of the home; two daughters, Misty Lusk and Ashley Lusk Stout and husband Johnny, all of Elizabethton; three step-sons, Corey Henson of Virginia, and Christopher Henson and Michael Jester, both of Elizabethton; three sisters, Beulah Butler, Patricia Oliver and husband Jerry and Mary Taylor and husband James, all of Elizabethton; three brothers, William “Bill” Lusk and wife Roxanna, Elizabethton, Gary Lusk and wife Kim and Charles Lusk, all of North Carolina; and his grandchildren, Kaleb Lowe, Peyton Milton, Bryson Milton, Jeremiah, Dylon and Logan Stout and Tamra Henson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mike James Lusk will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 2, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Johnny Hilton and Rev. Kenneth Davis officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service, or at the residence of his mother, 714 Well Street, Elizabethton, at anytime.
