Randal Crawford Lowe

Randal Crawford Lowe, 74, of Watauga, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Basil Crawford and Harriett Fana Taylor Lowe.
Mr. Lowe was a former truck driver and roofer. He was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church but attended Lick Creek Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Ralph Edward and Billy Jack Lowe.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Grace “Pat” Godsey Lowe; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Bryan Slagle, Watauga, and Tammy and Michael Starnes, Greeneville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tim and Debbie Lowe, Piney Flats, and Randy Lowe, of the home; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Jewel Lowe, Elizabethton; four sisters, Darlene Buckles, Connie Tester and husband Steve and Grace Campbell and husband Jerry, all of Elizabethton, and Carless Richardson of Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and one uncle, J.C. Taylor of California.
Funeral services for Mr. Lowe will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Leon Duka, minister, officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, in the Scalf Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be George Godsey, Steve Tester, Jerry Campbell, Jimmy Blevins and his church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of the ICU at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
