NW0626 John Conlee Concert
Country legend John Conlee, also known as Mr. Rose Colored Glasses, will perform July 3 at Heritage Hall in Mountain City.
Conlee, a regular performer at the Grand Ole Opry, has enjoyed a 35-year career in country music. He has performed such classic songs, “Rose Colored Glasses,” his signature song, as well as “Friday Night Blues,” “Common Man,” “Miss Emily’s Picture,” and “I Don’t Remember Lovin’ You” and many more.
Conlee has returned to radio with a new single “Walkin’ Behind the Star,” which was released on his own RCR label. The song was written by recording veterans Ronnie Scaife and Phil Thomas. The song had yet to be cut until recent events made it timely.
Conlee, touched by the lyrics, said, “Recent deadly attacks against the people who keep us safe are unprecedented in America and I wanted to sing this song in honor of their sacrifice and willingness to serve.
A new CD by Conlee will feature more new material along with many of Conlee’s classics from the past.
Conlee recently celebrated the 36th anniversary of his breakthrough hit “Rose Colored Glasses.” He can be found on tour through 2015 as well as on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, where he has been a member since 1981.
Tickets can be purchased at Heritage Hall in Mountain City or online at www.itickets.com or by calling 1-800-965-9324.
