Two-car crash sends 3 to JCMC hospital

A two-vehicle crash on Highway 91 in Stoney Creek on Monday night around 5:45 pm resulted in both drivers and a passenger taken to JCMC. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s report, prior to the crash, Angela Swinyer, driver of the 1997 Dodge Ram, was traveling north on State Route 91 near Price Rd. Jesse L. Scalf, the driver of the 2005 Dodge Caravan, was traveling south on State Route 91. Scalf attempted to turn left into the Volunteer Market (1142 Hwy. 91) and failed to yield for Swinyer, resulting in the crash.
Swinyer and her passenger were flown to JCMC and Scalf was taken by ambulance to JCMC for injuries.
The following charges were issued: Jesse L. Scalf for failure to yield and driving on a suspended license and Angela Swinyer for driving on a suspended license.
