The Unaka Lady Rangers jumped out to a 26-24 advantage at the break and refused to give an inch in taking down the home-standing Daniel Boone Lady Blazers in roundball action Tuesday.

When the final horn sounded, the ladies from Stoney Creek boarded the bus with a 58-52 non-conference win.

Coach Ken Chambers’s team hit seven treys in the first 16 minutes of action to gain the slight lead at the intermission. Macy Ensor and Lyndie Ramsey both drained a pair from beyond the arc with Julie Simerly, Alisha Harrell, and Kiki Forney collecting one each.

Josie Jenkins had the hot hand for Boone in the opening half dropping in three treys for nine points while Jayden Riddle scored eight to help pace the Lady Blazers.

The fourth quarter turned out to be the turning point for the Lady Rangers as they outscored the home team 18-13 to extend the lead and grab the win.

Ramsey finished with 17 points to lead her team to the win. Ensor tallied 13 in the win while Forney added nine points.

Simerly and Mailey Guy contributed with eight points each while Harrell finished with three points.

Jenkins led all scorers with 18 points in the loss while Riddle tossed in 13 points.
