East Tennessee State University’s Alumni Association will hold its 2014 Awards Banquet and Annual Meeting Friday, May 9.
Created in 1915 as the National Alumni Association, this is the longest operating organization on campus of graduates and former students. The gathering of alumni on the evening before spring commencement dates back to a candlelight ceremony that welcomed the Class of 1929 diploma students in preparation for their graduation.
This year’s banquet begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Mountain States Health Alliance Ballroom at Millennium Centre. Special recognition will be given to the reunion class of 1964, and a select group of distinguished university alumni and friends will be honored.
