GREENEVILLE—Hoping for a serving of sweet vanilla ice cream by way of a home game in the sectional round of the TSSAA girls soccer playoffs, the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones were given  a taste of “rocky road” instead.

Greeneville scored a pair of early goals and finished with four unanswered tallies as the Lady Greene Devils took the Region 1-A/AA championship with a 7-1 win over EHS on Thursday night at Fox Field.

The Devils scored in the third minute on a seemingly harmless crossing pass from Lauren King who sent one into the box across sophomore goalkeeper Loren Campbell from left to right.
