It took traveling long distances and traversing choppy waters before Elizabethton citizen Barbara Bogart could make her dreams of qualifying to compete with Team USA come true.

Bogart competed in and finished both the Olympic and sprint distance races during the 2014 USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships in Milwaukee, Wisc.

She finished ninth in the Olympic race and 11th in the sprint race in her age group, qualifying her to join Team USA in the 2015 Triathlon World Championships in Chicago, Ill.
