KINGSPORT—A trick play in the fourth quarter would set the Highlanders up to remain undefeated as they overcame the Tri-Cities Eagles 21-17 Friday night at Don “Log” Martin Field.

On third-and-12 during the fourth quarter, while down 17-14, Cloudland’s Zac Benfield pitched the ball off to Austin Whitehead, who then connected a 43-yard bomb to Colby Birchfield, putting the Highlanders up on the Eagles’ 5-yard line. By punching the ball across from there, Benfield then put the ’Landers in the lead.
