Six people are facing drug charges after police executing a search warrant broke up a Halloween party late Thursday night.
Three people were arrested around 11:30 p.m. Thursday after officers of the Elizabethton Police Department’s Vice Unit executed a search warrant at 302 E. F St., Apt. B.
About 17 people were inside the apartment when police arrived, EPD Capt. Joy Shoun said.
During a search of the apartment and cars parked outside, officers found marijuana, a 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun, assorted prescription drugs, hallucinogenic mushrooms and drug paraphernalia, including scales, plastic bags and smoking devices, Shoun said.
“In addition to the drugs and drug paraphernalia, investigators also seized approximately $1,500 in cash,” Shoun said.
Charges were placed against the four residents of the apartment and two other people who were there at the time of the search.
Katherin Brookshear, 22, 302 E. F St., Apt B, Elizabethton, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of Schedule VI drugs, possession of a legend drug without a prescription, and violation of a Drug Free School Zone.
Nathan Guy, 24, 302 E. F St., Apt. B, Elizabethton, was arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.
Christopher Tester, 29, 1002 Circle Drive, Elizabethton was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of drugs, Possession of Schedule I drugs and violation of a Drug Free School Zone.
James McNulty, 27, 302 E. F St., Apt. B, Elizabethton, was issued a criminal summons charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Andrew Hicks, 25, 302 E. F St., Apt. B, Elizabethton, was issued a criminal summons charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Travis harrington, 31, 448 Treadway Trail, Telford, was issued a criminal summons charging him with simple possession of drugs.
All six are scheduled to appear in Carter County General Sessions Court Nov. 25.
