Bank of Tennessee, which includes Carter County Bank, has put together a quick relief effort to help Middle Tennessee communities who were hit hard by this week’s tornadoes.

Bank of Tennessee has four locations in Middle Tennessee. “Although we were lucky that none of our branches or employees were impacted by the tornadoes, we are connected to those communities and we know three organizations, which have immediate needs,” said Rebecca White of the Bank of Tennessee.

All Bank of Tennessee, Carter County Bank, and Mountain Community Bank are collection sites to benefit the Lebanon Fire Department, West Wilson Middle School, and Donelson Christian Academy.

The banks will be collecting cleaning supplies, school supplies, and personal supplies through next Wednesday for these three organizations. All items collected will be taken to the organizations next Thursday.

Suggested cleaning supplies include air freshener, bleach, buckets, household cleaners, clothespins, clotheslines, detergents, disinfectants, dish soap, latex gloves, work gloves, masks (N-95 rating), scouring pads, scrub brushes, sponges, towels for cleaning, trash bags, and tool sets.

Suggested toiletries and personal supplies include diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, feminine hygiene products, soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, floss, deodorant and first aid supplies.

Both the West Wilson Middle School and Donelson Christian Academy sustained incredible damage to the property and buildings. They will continue to operate and hold classes off-site as soon as possible while the buildings are repaired.

Students and teachers have lost most of their supplies and are in desperate need of new, unopened items.

Suggested donations include pencil boxes, crayons, colored pencils, washable markers, No. 2 pencils, pencil sharpeners, gluesticks, erasers, blunt-tipped and regular scissors, plastic folders, construction paper, wide-ruled notebook paper, tissues, backpacks, lunch boxes, pens, rulers, index cards, highlighters, calculators, spiral notebooks, and post it notes.
