Jr. Lady Rangers bring out bats in win over Hampton

Coach Megan Heaton’s Unaka Jr. Lady Rangers faced off against the Hampton Jr. Lady Bulldogs at Hampton
Tuesday night.

The Lady Rangers would start the game off with the bats.

Katlyn Dugger started the Jr. Lady Rangers game off with a single between short and third base, followed
by McKenna Richardson who hit a deep one to right field that sent her to third while sending Dugger home
for the first score of the game.

Mollie Buckles and Emma Taylor both followed Richardson for singles where each of them collected an RBI.

The Jr. Lady Bulldogs would get their first batter on from a walk by Lady Ranger’s pitcher Richardson. It didn’t
take Richardson long to find her groove striking out the next two Bulldog batters and the third out coming
from Lady Rangers second baseman Amariana Harter who fielded a solid grounder.

The Jr. Lady Rangers continued to dominate the game offensively in the next four innings with all
the varsity players collecting hits.

Leading the Jr. Lady Rangers were Katlyn Dugger, McKenna Richardson, Mollie Buckles, and Emma Taylor each
going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Buckles and Taylor each collected a double, while Richardson dinged a triple.

The Jr. Lady Rangers collected the ‘W’ finishing with a 16-0 score.

Richardson ended the game with the win for the Lady Rangers collecting eight strikeouts and only two walks.

Kimberly Proffitt came in to clean up the last inning for the Jr. Lady Rangers battling to collect two strikeouts
and a fielder’s choice from shortstop Emma Taylor to end the game.
